Earth Day 2023 - BVC

Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 2023

The high school and middle years students at Broad Valley Colony School were given the opportunity to share their ideas on Earth Day through discussion and classroom activities.

As a group activity, the High School students brainstormed as a class what they could do collectively in their respective classrooms that would acknowledge this important day.

Students traced both hands in a symbolic effort to acknowledge this day and wrote a response to the question: What can I do to protect the earth?  Students also created meaningful artistic impressions that reflected on the importance of doing their share to protect the environment.

The early years classroom also had fun with painting their hands and creating a Earth Day poster with their colored hand prints that circled a colorful image of the earth.

In the three posters created, it is evident to the students at Broad Valley School that Earth Day is a day that we can all be mindful and continue our commitment to protect the earth one hand at a time.
