Optometrist appointments
The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends the following specific guidelines:
✓ Children should visit the optometrist for the first time between six and nine months of age
✓ Again between two and five years of age
Unfortunately, Lakeshore School Division will not be completing Vision screening.
We encourage all parents to take their children to an optometrist for a vision assessment. Manitoba Health insures basic optometric eye exams for children ages 0-18 years every 2 calendar years, starting with odd years.
If your child requires glasses and they are lost or broken, please consider replacing and repairing them quickly. It is so important for their learning!
To find an optometrist near you, call the Manitoba Association of Optometrists at 204-943-9811.
