The population of the school for 2008-2009 was 89 students with a teaching staff of 6. The school team consists of 4 classroom teachers, a gym teacher, principal, resource teacher, guidance counsellor, and is complimented by a secretary/librarian, and several educational assistants, mechanics and bus drivers.
2009-2010 SCHOOL PRIORITIES
The school planning process for 2009-2010 began at the April 13 Divisional Professional Development Day, and continued on the May 29 School Planning Day. The 2009-2010 school plan will focus on continuation of two priorities established for the 2008-2009 school plan and will add a Mathematics priority.
- Continuation and enhancement of the Strong Beginnings Assessment Program
- Continued implementation of the provincial LwICT (Learning with Information and Communication Technology) continuum
- Addition of a numeracy outcome, related to recent developments in Mathematics education
- Continued emphasis on student engagement and understanding through Inquiry-Based Learning
- Further exploration of student assessment for, of, and as learning
